Mamie Rowena (Nee Wills) Downard, 92, passed away, Wednesday, May 19, 2021. She was born January 13, 1929 to Henry and Orba (Nee Massey) Wills.
Mamie was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend. She married Walter Glen Eads on April 5, 1948 and to this union three children were born. Mamie was a Christian and former member of New Covenant Fellowship Church in Poplar Bluff, MO. She enjoyed reading, cooking, dancing, and family gatherings. She lived in New Madrid, Wappapello before moving to Fenton, MO, to be close to her family.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her longtime companion, James "Jim" Dunn. Her sisters, Ethel Wills, Pauline Parks, Mildred Farris, Mary "Sue" Blankenship, Velma Short, Iva "Dena" Reid, Her brothers, James Oliver "J.O.", Leo, Charles, David and Albert "Al" Wills.
Mamie is survived by her loving children, Sharon Schaefer of Fenton; Robin Scott and husband Don of Fenton; Tammy Sticht and husband William "Tim" of High Ridge, Mo.: Her grandchildren, Tiffany Jackson of Arizona, Ashley Nagel of Fenton, Mo, Angela Winslow, House Springs, Mo., Christopher Schaefer, California, Jason Miller of Cedar Hill, Mo.: Her great-grandchildren Kaylee Jernigan, Marley, and Cash Miller.
Visitation was held at 5:00 pm, Saturday, May 22, 2021, at Ruegg Funeral Home, Greenville Chapel. Funeral service was held Sunday, May 23, 2021, also in the Greenville Chapel. Ashley Nagel ministered to the family. Benji Presser, Don Scott, Tim Sticht, Ted Kottwitz, Rendell Wills and John Hillis served as pallbearers. Burial followed in Little Brushy Cemetery, Wappapello.
