Marc Allen Crane

May 29, 1951 ~ September 14, 2023 (age 72) 72 Years Old

Marc Allen Crane, 72, of Greenville, MO, passed away Thursday, September 14, 2023, at his residence. He was born in Peach Orchard, MO, May 29, 1951, to the late Rev. Herbert “Jr” Eugene Crane and Mary Victoria (Provance) Crane.

Marc was a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend. He married Virginia Elder on October 14, 1972, and they were blessed with four children. Marc worked for Sargent Construction Company as a Foreman for many years. He proudly served in the United States Army serving two tours in Vietnam. Marc was a Christian, of the Baptist faith and a devoted member of Kime General Baptist Church. He loved to read and study his Bible, learning all he could. His life was centered around his church and church family. Every Sunday, he would visit with family after church at his parents’ place where there was always a softball game. Marc enjoyed fishing and hunting, especially quail and dove hunting. He also enjoyed fellowship with his family and friends, sitting on the front porch drinking coffee. He looked forward to the family night 4-wheeler rides. Marc loved his family with all he had, especially his grandchildren. Marc’s favorite all-time hobby was getting in trouble with all the smaller children. It did not matter if they were his grandchildren or not, any child would do, he would put them up to no good knowing trouble would come their way. Marc loved to have fun.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his brothers: Lanny and Jerry Crane; sisters: Susie Crane, Anna Leigh White and husband Danny, and Mary Ella Hopper.

Marc is survived by his loving and devoted wife of fifty years; children: Marc Crane and wife Lorenda of Greenville, Jason Crane and wife Danitra of Manila, AR, Richard Crane and wife Emily of Greenville, IL, Ashley Childress of Poplar Bluff; son-in-love: Rhett Elder and wife Heather of Clubb; grandchildren: Austin, Bryan, Payton, Alexis, Tristan, Lathan, Kendan, Taryn, Dakayla, and Dason Crane, Lexi, Brooklyn, Aiden, and Delphie Seyler, Jordan Henry, Jett and Jenna Childress; grandchildren-in-love: Rylee, Wyatt, and Kimber Elder; brothers: Ranny Crane and wife Vickie of Kennett, Steven Crane and wife Luann of Chatsworth, GA, Frank Crane and wife Pam of Fredericktown; sisters: Joslyn Payne and late husband Bill of Greenville, Carolyn Elder and husband Rob of Greenville; sister-in-law: Sue Crane of Gideon and Sue Crane of Kennett; many nieces, nephews and a host of friends. Marc will be greatly missed.
