Margaret Ann Bollinger, 80, of Mineral Point, MO, passed away Friday, January 3, 2025, at her residence. She was born on August 10, 1944, in Silva, MO, to Garland “Spooner” Dalton and Abbie Natalia (Warrick) Bollinger. Margaret was lifelong resident of Wayne County and attended Bounds Creek School in her youth and developed deep roots in the community she called home.
Margaret was a devoted sister, aunt, and friend who shared a very close and loving relationship with her family. She was known for her kind heart, strong work ethic, and love of nature. Margaret worked as a cook at Golden's Cafe and as a line worker at Garden Foods, where she earned the respect of all who knew her. In her personal life, Margaret enjoyed squirrel hunting, gardening, and fishing, particularly for perch and bluegill, passions that brought her peace and happiness.
Margaret was of the Baptist faith and found strength and guidance in her beliefs throughout her life. Her warmth and generosity touched many lives, and she will be greatly missed by her family and friends.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her brothers: Walter “Blair”, Roger, and Nathaniel Bollinger; and her sisters: Marie Thornburgh, Janice "Faye" Truelove, and Teresa Shaw.
Margaret is survived by her brother: Phillip Bollinger of Potosi; sister: Watie Barber and husband Thomas of Patterson; many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and nephews, and great-great nieces and nephews, who loved her dearly and will forever carry her memory in their hearts.
Margaret’s legacy of love, kindness, and faith will live on through those who were fortunate enough to know her.
Visitation will be held at 4:00 pm, Thursday, January 9, 2025, at Ruegg Funeral Home, Greenville Chapel. Funeral service will be held at 6:00 pm, also in the Greenville Chapel with cremation following. Online condolences can be made at www.rueggfuneralhomes.com
