Margaret Goebel Obituary

Margaret Goebel, 80, of Poplar Bluff, MO, formerly of Williamsville, MO, passed away Friday, January 16, 2026, at Poplar Bluff Regional Medical Center. Margaret was born in Williamsville, MO, October 28, 1945, to James Oscar and Osie Jane (Lawson) Groves.

Margaret was a loving mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend. She truly had a motherly spirit, raising many children throughout her life—three of whom were her own, while countless others lovingly adopted her as their own. Her heart was open to all, and her home was a place of warmth, care, and unconditional love.

She was a hardworking and ambitious woman who dedicated herself to providing for and nurturing her family. Margaret worked for several years as a manager at Row Furniture, where she was known for her dedication and strong work ethic.

Margaret loved the outdoors and found joy in sewing, especially making clothing for children. She took great pride in caring for those around her and was always there when her family needed her. Each person in her life knew just how deeply and personally she independently loved each one of them.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her beloved grandson: Michael Goebel; brothers: Bruce and Alvin Deason; sisters: Edith Hillis and Mary Gordon.

Margaret is survived by her children: Jesse Graves, Michael Goebel and wife Tina, and Gwendolyn Pinnell, all of Poplar Bluff; grandchildren: Kammie Pressly, Ariel Cochran, Travis Pinnell, Sheena Reynolds, Joey Pinnell, Danielle Stracener; twelve great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; sister: Kathleen Willard; many nieces, nephews, and friends.

Margaret lived a life rooted in love, generosity, and devotion to family. She will be greatly missed by her family and friends.
