Nursing Center in Piedmont, MO, for two years, and three months. Marilee was born June 20, 1929, in Toledo, OH. She was the 2nd daughter of Albert & Freda (Miller) Seewer.
At the age of six or seven, Marilee became a Child of God. She soon realized that God wanted her to be a Missionary in Africa. She attended Shelton College. In 1953 she became a Missionary serving under Baptist Mid-Missions, Cleveland, OH. Realizing her need for a Bachelor of Science in Education, she returned to the United States to study at Cedarville College in OH. There she met and married Rev. Albert Ostrander, a widower who was also attending the College. Together they served as Missionaries in Yila, Liberia until a military coup forced them to leave the country in 1980. They continued to serve the Lord in the United States in Selma, AL and Silva, MO. Albert pastored Evangel Baptist Church, Missionary Acres; Silva, MO, from 1984-1990. Albert died June 30, 1991. After her husband’s death, Marilee continued to serve faithfully in the church as a Pianist, Organist, Singer/Soloist, Sunday School Teacher, Bible Club helper. She dearly loved the children and people of eastern Wayne County, MO. Marilee was a great prayer warrior and spent many hours praying for family, friends, and the United States of America. She ministered to people all over the United States, including many prisoners, through her “Mailbox Club” as she sent Bible Lessons to them through the mail.
Marilee is survived by her two nieces: Marilee Seago of Carlisle, PA, and Celeste Sloat and husband Scott of Goshen, IN; nephew: Jeff Clark and wife Pattie of Tacoma, WA; multiple friends at Missionary Acres, in Eastern Wayne County, MO, and the rest of the United States, plus many beloved Liberians who loved her dearly.
She was preceded in death by her husband: Albert Ostrander; her parents; sister: Alberta Clark; brother-in-law: John Clark, and nephew-in-law: Jeff Seago.
Marilee’s one desire and passion in life was for all people to come to a saving knowledge of her Lord Jesus Christ. She will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.
