Mary Ella Hopper Obituary

Mary Ella Hopper, 73, of Greenville, MO, passed away Monday, June 5, 2023, at Mercy Jefferson Hospital, Festus, MO. She was born September 6, 1949, to the late Rev. Junior and Mary (Provance) Crane.

Mary Ella was a loving and devoted wife, mother, nana, sister, aunt Punk, and friend. She married William Hopper on March 5, 1982. Mary Ella was a Christian and of the Baptist faith. She attended Kime General Baptist Church. She enjoyed riding 4-wheelers with her sisters, and snake hunting. Mary Ella was an avid writer and wrote many poems and short stories. She loved family game nite and cheating at aggravation. Her greatest legacy was her family.   

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her brother: Lanny Crane; sisters: Susie Crane and Anna White and husband Danny.

Mary Ella is survived by her loving husband of forty-one years; children: Kimberly Crane of Greenville, Chris Hopper and wife Charlotte of Rockford, IL; grandchildren: Heather Connor and husband Ryan, Damien Hopper, Dylan Hopper and wife McKenzie, Trinity Hopper, Tristen Hopper, Josh Lundstrom and fiancé Michelle Bryant; great-grandchildren: Aaron Bryant, Tyler Connor, Zachary Conner, Nicholas Hopper: brothers: Ranny Crane and wife Vickie of Kennett, Jerry Crane and wife Sue of Kennett, Steven Crane and wife Luann of Stone Mt., GA, Frank Crane and wife Pam of Fredericktown, Marc Crane and wife Jenny of Greenville; sisters: Joslyn Payne and late husband Bill of Greenville, Carolyn Elder and husband Rob of Greenville; sister-in-law: Sue Crane of Gideon; many nieces, nephews and friends. Mary Ella will be greatly missed by all who knew her.

Visitation was held at 11:00 am, Saturday, June 10, 2023, at Kime General Baptist Church, Greenville, MO. Funeral followed at 2:00 pm, also at Kime General Baptist Church. Bro. Scott Payne ministered to the family. Heather Conner and Robert Elder provided music. Steven Crane gave a heartfelt eulogy. Josh Lundstrom, Damien Hopper, Dylan Hopper, Tristen Hopper, Ryan Conner, Chris Hopper, and Cody Germann served as pallbearers. Burial was in Center Ridge Cemetery, Greenville, MO.
