Melissa "Lisa" Linette (McLeod) Bowling

Melissa “Lisa” Bowling, 59, of Ironton, passed away, Saturday, May 6. She was born in St. Louis, MO, December 18, 1963, to parents Wilburn and Betty (Street) McLeod.

Lisa was a loving wife, stepmother, sister, and friend. She was of the Christian faith and past attended Patterson Assembly of God Church. She was married to James Bowling, September 28, 2006. Lisa had a great sense of humor. She could not stand to see a child, or an animal struggling or hurt. Lisa was strong-willed and spoke her mind. She strongly believed in always telling the truth. She did not believe in lying or cheating. Lisa truly loved her family, especially her fur babies; Tosha, Anna, and Cody.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her brothers: Robert, Danny, and Lanny McLeod; sister, Deborah Smith. Lisa is survived by her loving husband of sixteen years; stepdaughters: Jessica Bowling of St. Louis, Heather Bowling of St. Louis, Sarah Farris and husband Matt Michael of Kansas City, MO, Kelsey Duitman and husband Kevin of St. Louis; sisters: Cheryl Cooper of Ironton, Dawn Braun of Fredericktown, Beverly Hellon of St. James, Laura Shaw of Park Hills, Rhonda Holbert and husband Robert of Potosi, many nieces, nephews, cousins. Lisa will be greatly missed by her family and friends.

Visitation was held at 1:00 pm, Thursday May 11, 2023, at Ruegg Funeral Home, Piedmont Chapel. Funeral service followed at 2:00 pm, also in Piedmont Chapel. Bro. Jeff Parker ministered to the family. Music was provided by Jeff Parker and Margan Street, accompanied by pianist, Sarah Edgy. Jim Bowling, Rick Paisley, Jason Paisley, Cary Bowling, Kevin Deutman, Nick Schultz served as pallbearers.
