Mercia Clark, 73, of Highlandville, MO, passed away Sunday, July 25, 2021, at Select Specialty Hospital, Springfield, MO. She was born in Poplar Bluff, MO, on May 27, 1948, to parents Woodrow and Frances (McCullough) Leeper.
Mercia was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend. She married Ronald Clark, July 14, 1964, and to this union four children were born. Mercia was a bookkeeper for Bank of Piedmont and later their business, Piedmont Homes, and owned and operated the Sonshine Shop Christian bookstore. She was a longtime member of Faith Christian Church in Piedmont, and attended Turning Point Church in Springfield, MO. She enjoyed her flowers, beautiful sunsets, and spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren. Mercia was a relentless prayer warrior and loved to worship, which she planned to continue through eternity.
She is preceded in death by her parents.
Mercia is survived by husband of fifty-seven years; children: Ronda Polk and husband Brian of Piedmont. Brent Clark and wife Tina of Ozark, Brandon Clark of Jackson, Kristen Usher of Springfield; grandchildren: Jessica Sentell and husband Eric, Jacob Polk and wife Mindi, Ben Clark and wife Bethany, Noah Clark, Haden Clark, Natalie Clark, Clark Usher, Isaac Usher, Lincoln Smith, Alexander Smith, Marcus Smith; great grandchild: Stryder Sentell: sister: Raleigh Sanders and Husband Duane of Greely, CO; four nieces and one nephew. Mercia will be greatly missed by her family and friends.
Visitation was held at 9:30 am, Saturday, July 31, 2021, at the Pavilion at Trinity United Methodist Church, Piedmont. Funeral service followed at 10:30 am, also at the Pavilion. Bro Alan Conner ministered to the family. Brent Clark, Brandon Clark, Brian Polk, Haden Clark, Noah Clark, Ben Clark, Jacob Polk, and Clark Usher served as pallbearers. Burial was in Masonic Cemetery, Piedmont. In lieu of flowers and to benefit children, donations can be made in memory of Mercia, to the Clearwater School Foundation, PO Box 154, Piedmont, MO 63957.
