Peggy Ellen Huggins, 82, of Coldwater, MO, passed away Sunday, December 26, 2021, at her residence.
She was born March 24, 1939, to parents Robert Evans and Audrey (Tibbs) Evans at Poplar Bluff, MO. On December 12, 1953, Peggy was married to Roy Huggins and to this union four children were born.
Peggy lived a full life as a homemaker. She will be remembered as a mother and grandmother that kept a watchful and caring eye on her family. She had several other pursuits such as keeping up with her family tree, puzzles, scrap booking, gardening and flowers, and solar burning with a magnifying glass.
Peggy was a Christian and had been a longtime member of the Lodi Church of the Nazarene.
Peggy is survived by her son, Mike Huggins Sr., of Coldwater, daughters: Joann Gibbs of Coldwater, Barbara Gibbs of Talbott, TN, and Marilyn Pigg of Fisk, MO; She was blessed with several grand and great- grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren; half-sister: Michelle Tolles of Joplin; and stepsister: Annie Harper.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her loving husband of fifty-four years; brother, Junior Evans; sister, Jerri Swope; stepsisters: Estelle Harper and Mary.
Visitation was held Thursday, December 30, 2021, from 1:00-2:00 pm, at Ruegg Funeral Home, Greenville Chapel. Funeral service followed at 2:00 pm, also at Ruegg Funeral Home, Greenville Chapel. Bro. Jimmy Gibbs Sr. and Bro. Dale Pigg ministered to the family. Music was provided by grandchildren: Duane Gibbs, Bethany Gibbs, Kylan Gibbs, Andrew Crider, Jared Gibbs, and Robert Gibbs. Andrew Crider, Cole Crider, Elijah Crider, Trevor Williams, Christopher Pigg, Jeremiah Halter, Joshua Pigg, and Robert Gibbs served as pallbearers. Burial followed in Lewis Cemetery at Lodi, MO.
