Penny Schulz, 58, of Piedmont, MO, passed away Sunday, June 23, 2024, at Barnes Jewish Hospital, St. Louis, MO. She was born April 30, 1966, in Poplar Bluff, MO, to parents Elmer D. and Wanda Jean (Howard) Dodson.
Penny was a loving wife, devoted mother and grandmother, and a very special friend. She was a graduate of Clearwater High School and a member of Clearwater Baptist Church. She married Christopher Schulz on June 3, 2001. Penny was Wayne County Deputy to the Public Administrator until she was appointed the acting Public Administrator in 2021. She was always willing at any given time to listen or help in any way. She loved her job and enjoyed serving her clients and her community. Shopping was something Penny found pleasure in and enjoyed the challenge of finding the best bargains. Penny found a lot of pleasure with spending time with her family and friends. She will be greatly missed by her family, friends, and community.
She is preceded in death by her parents.
Penny is survived by her husband of twenty-three years; children: Cody Ezell, Cole Ezell, Cory Ezell; grandchildren: Cade, Carter, Hailey, and Ridge Ezell, Cooper, Emilio, London, Zoziah, Leonardo Schulz and one on the way; brothers: Rick Smith and wife Cyndi of Piedmont, Timmothy Dodson and husband Seaver; and a community full of friends. Penny will be greatly missed.
Visitation was held at 5:00 pm, Friday, June 28, 2024, at Ruegg Funeral Home, Piedmont Chapel. Funeral was held at 12:00 noon, Saturday, June 29, 2024, at Clearwater Baptist Church, Piedmont. Pastor Bill Turner ministered to the family. Dean Finch read the obituary, Cody Ezell read scriptures. Chuck Dodson gave a heartful eulogy. Special music was provided by Julie Boswell. Travis Crum, Dalton Ezell, Ryan Boswell, Chuck Dodson, Dean Finch, and Donnie Shatley served as pallbearers. Burial was in Masonic Cemetery, Piedmont.
