Ralph "Gene" Eugene Crites Jr.

Ralph “Gene” Eugene Crites Jr., 68, of High Ridge, MO, formerly of Piedmont, MO, passed away Saturday, November 24, 2024, at St. Clare Hospital in Fenton, MO. He was born October 18, 1956, in Perryville, MO, to Ralph Eugene and Bergie Sue (Jackson) Crites Sr.

Gene was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend. His family was the cornerstone of his life, and he cherished his time with them. He married Carol Blair, and together they raised a loving family. Gene spent the majority of his career as co-owner of Ralph’s Supermarket, working alongside his family from 1988 until 2011. He was well-known for his friendly demeanor and genuine care for his customers, always greeting them with a smile and a kind word.

Gene had a passion for traveling and enjoyed going on cruises, visiting national parks and monuments, and skiing. A talented photographer, he took hundreds of pictures to capture the memories of his adventures, leaving behind a collection of beautiful images. His love for sports, especially the Kansas City Chiefs and St. Louis Cardinals, was a constant part of his life, and he was proud to cheer for his favorite teams.

He is preceded in death by his parents.

Gene is survived by his child with wife Carol Crites: Tori Crites of High Ridge; his children with Carolyn Crites: Chirstopher Crites of Poplar Bluff, Karrie Dean of Piedmont, Melissa “Nikki” Eaton of Piedmont, grandchildren: Caine Eaton, Chloe Eaton, Aubree Dean, Mordecai Eaton, Skyler Starks, Morgan Crites, Carissa Crites; great-grandchildren: Falynn Eaton, Nadia Allen, Levi Baker, Amari Starks; siblings: Jay Crites and wife Rhonda of Nashville, TN, Terry Crites of Flagstaff, AZ, Sherri Slevin of OK, Donna Crites, and Beth Crites of Japan.

Gene’s warm heart, welcoming nature, and genuine spirit will be missed by all who knew him. His legacy of love and kindness will continue to live on through his family and the many memories he leaves behind.
