Richard "Rick" Alan Stout, 71, of Piedmont, MO, passed away Wednesday, August 20, 2025, at St. Francis Medical Center, Cape Girardeau, MO. He was born in St. Louis, MO, October 13, 1953, to Lloyd and Macy (McMahan) Stout.
Rick was a loving brother, uncle, and loyal friend. A talented artisan, Rick, found his calling as a professional jeweler. He was the proud owner and operator of R. Alan Macy in Weston, MO, where he turned precious metals and stones into meaningful keepsakes. Known for his meticulous craftsmanship, Rick could design and create just about anything. His love for the art extended beyond the shop. He was a passionate rockhound who delighted in collecting minerals and unique stones.
Rick grew up in the Poplar Bluff and Malden areas when he was younger. When he left his business in Weston, he moved to the quiet town of Piedmont, where he enjoyed the close-knit community and the opportunity to be near his beloved aunt, Judy. He had an eye for a good deal and was a frequent and joyful visitor of local thrift stores, always on the lookout for treasures or just a good bargain.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his brother: Mike Stout; and sister: Karen Cooper.
Rick is survived by his companion of thirty-three years, Thomas “Tom” Hunt; brothers: Danny Stout of Collinsville, IL, Dennis Stout of Festus, Kevin Stout of Malden; aunt: Judy Bishop; as well as many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and nephews, and a wide circle of friends who were touched by his warmth, creativity, and wit.
Rick will be remembered for his generous spirit, his artistic soul, and his deep love for family and friends. He will be dearly missed.
