Robert Kamer Sr., 77, of Wappapello, MO, passed away Friday, June 30, 2023, at his residence. He was born in St. Louis, MO, January 28, 1946, to parents Alvin and Cella Mae (Kestler) Kamer.
Robert was a loving father, grandfather, brother, and uncle. He married Sandra J Bennett, February 12, 1966, and they were blessed with two children. Robert proudly served in the United States Navy and maintained the ships. He was a hard worker and good provider for his family. He worked for the United States Postal Service at Poplar Bluff for many years. He was of the Methodist faith and a member of Trinity Methodist Church. Robert loved to joke around and make people laugh, he was also known for being a huge St. Louis Cardinals fan. He was a true cowboy, raising and riding horses. His greatest legacy was his family.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his loving wife of fifty-four years; brothers: William and Johnny Kamer.
Robert is survived by his children, Robert L Kamer Jr. and wife Barb of Wappapello, Lockianna Bennett and husband Patrick of Patterson; grandchildren: Ginger Carter, Jody Bixler and husband Mike, Teodoro Rivas Jr. and wife Jacquline, Trenton Kamer Sr., Dynishea Latimore, Colton Bennett and wife Randa, Logan Mayes and husband Jake, Justin Bennett and wife Amy; many great-grandchildren, several great-great grandchildren; brothers: Alvin Kamer and wife Linda of Arnold, Kenny Kamer of Potosi, Steve Kamer and wife Brenda of Arnold; sisters: Joyce Fisher and husband Elmer of Arnold, Dianne Dobbs and husband John of Lake St. Louis; many nieces, nephews, and friends. Robert will be greatly missed by his family and friends. The family wishes to thank Legacy Hospice for their care.
Visitation will be held at 11:00 am, Thursday, July 6, 2023, at Ruegg Funeral Home, Piedmont Chapel. Funeral service will follow at 1:00 pm, also in Piedmont Chapel. Burial will be in Lewis Cemetery, Lodi, MO, with full military honors. Online condolences can be made at www.rueggfuneralhomes.com.
