Robert Lee Moen

Robert Lee Moen, 90, Piedmont, MO, passed away Wednesday, August 21, 2024, at his residence. He was born February 6, 1934, in Stanton, TN, to parents Joseph Alexander and Jenny Mae (Couch) Moen.

Robert was a loving father, grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend. He married Molly McDowell, and they were blessed with three children. On May 12, 1987, he married Jeanette Wood, and they were blessed with one child. Robert proudly served in the United States Army and was honorably discharged in 1956. He then joined the National Guard and after discharge from National Guard, he enlisted with the United States Air Force until he retired in 1988. Robert was an avid hunter, fisherman, and enjoyed the outdoors. He loved baseball. The St. Louis Cardinal’s was his favorite team. He also enjoyed NASCAR and raced his own stock cars at one time. Robert’s favorite past time was being with his family.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his wife Jeanette; brother: Freddie Moen; and sister: Celeta Henderson.   

Robert is survived by his companion of twelve years: May Lewis; children: Sharon Rose and husband Harold of Desloge, Patricia “Robin” Purviance of Driftwood, TX, Ronald Moen and wife Sheila of St. Louis, Robert Wood and wife Angeline of Aiken SC; grandchildren: Rachel Stott and husband Ryan, Leah Snow, Harold Rose III and wife Elizabeth, Eve Rose, Taylor Moen and husband Caleb Cook, Harrison Moen and wife Hannah, Vincent Moen and wife Victoria, Quinton Moen and wife Lilly, Melanie Moen, Molly Moen, Joshua Wood, Cody Wood, MaKenzie Collins, Madison Collins; and seven great-grandchildren; many nieces, nephews, and friends. Robert’ greatest legacy was his family; he will be greatly missed by all who knew him and loved him.

Visitation was held Sunday, August 25, 2024, at Ruegg Funeral Home, Piedmont Chapel. Funeral service followed at 2:00 pm, also in the Piedmont Chapel. Bro. Harold Rose ministered to the family. Rachel Scott read the obituary and gave a heartfelt eulogy. Joshua Wood, Cody Wood, Harrison Wood, Vincent Moen, Harold Rose III, and Kevin Snow served as pallbearers.
