Robert “Bob” Everett Ridings Sr. 67 of Lodi, MO, passed away Wednesday, August 23, at Poplar Bluff Regional Medical Center. He was born October 8, 1955, in St. Louis, MO, to parents William Schell and Esther Ruth (Schmidt) Ridings Sr.
Bob was a loving father, grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend. He had many accomplishments through the years. Bob attended and graduated from Bailey’s Technical School in St. Louis, earning a certificate in in Auto Mechanics. He also owned and operated Bob Ridings Siding and Construction business for a time before changing career paths. Bob was caring, compassion and enjoyed taking care of others. He earned his bachelor’s degree in science at Southeast Missouri State University (SEMO) in Cape Girardeau. He was a Registered Nurse for many years. Bob also enjoyed tinkering with cars, planting and raising a garden, fishing, and holding family BBQ’s. He also enjoyed playing his guitar, especially for his grandchildren, and was self-proclaimed as “Guitar Bob”. Bob’s greatest legacy and accomplishment was his family, whom he was very proud of.
He is preceded in death by his parents.
Bob is survived by his children: Bob Ridings Jr. and wife Pornsuang of Farmington, Joseph Ridings and wife Shannon of Marble Hill, Jonathan Ridings and wife Rozz of Burfordville, Jennifer Montz and husband Rod of Covington, LA; grandchildren: Nebula Ridings, Presley Ridings, Schell Ridings, Miles Montz, Addy Montz, Wylie Montz, Sage Ridings, Lila Ridings; brothers: William Ridings Jr. and wife Kerry of Maplewood, James Ridings of Oakland, John Ridings and wife Sherry of Arnold, Gary Ridings and wife Angie of Kimswick; sisters: Lyn Ridings of St. Louis, Laura Sloan and husband Mark of Oakland; many nieces, nephews, and friends. Bob will be greatly missed.
A celebration of life will be held from 11:00 am until 5:00 pm, with a memorial at 2:00 pm, Sunday, October 8, 2023, at Sam A Baker State Park under pavillion 2. Online condolences can be made at www.rueggfuneralhomes.com
