Ronald Craig Farrell, 88, of Piedmont, MO, passed away Wednesday, April 6, 2022, at his daughter’s home in DeSoto, MO. He was born in St. Louis, February 5, 1934, to parents Russell Joseph and Dorothy Nina (Henson) Farrell.
Ron was a loving father, grandfather, uncle, and friend. He married the love of his life, Gloria Hinds, February 16, 1957, and to this union three children were born. Ron worked at Rockwood School District in the Maintenance Department. He enjoyed fishing, outdoors, going for his walks, and visiting his friends. Ron could always be heard whistling or singing. He was part of an acappello group in high school and they sang on KMOX radio station. He was a wonderful caretaker for his wife. He was a volunteer fire fighter in Peachtree. Ron’s greatest accomplishment and unending love was his family.

Ron is survived by his children: Steven Farrell of Cedar Hill, Melanie Velasco of DeSoto; grandchildren: Kevin Farrell, Jennifer Derleth, Ryan Farrell, Crystal Young, Lacy Chase, Heather Van Hecke, Payton Velasco, Luke Velasco, Carlie Velasco; great-grandchildren: Cody Farrell, Jacob Derleth, Logan Derleth, Alena Derleth, Alyssa Young, Madison Darner, Alexis Chase, Austin Chase, Emma Weaver, Henry Van Hecke, Maxx Van Hecke, Ella Farrell, Hudson Farrell; great-great-grandchild: Jayden Young; sister: Kathleen Farrell. Ron will be forever missed by all who knew and loved him.
Visitation will be held at 11:00 am, Tuesday, April 12, 2022, at Ruegg Funeral Home, Piedmont Chapel. Funeral service will follow at 1:00 pm, also in the Piedmont Chapel. Burial will be in Peach Tree Cemetery, Piedmont. Online condolences can be made at www.rueggfuneralhomes.com
