Ronald "Ron" Belmar, 79, of Brunot, MO, passed away, Monday, July 5, 2021, at Missouri Baptist Medical Center, St. Louis, MO. He was born in Brunot, MO, on July 7, 1941, to parents Robert (Bob) E. and Ava M. (Sinclair) Belmar.
Ron was a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend. He married Laura Frances Watkins on January 9, 1960, and to this union four children were born. Ron retired from General Motors in 1995 after thirty-five years of service. He was a member of the UAW Local 25 in St. Louis, MO. Ron had a passion for hunting, and working on his farm. He enjoyed spending time with his family and playing cards.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his eldest son: Robert “Bob” C Belmar; brothers: Robert “Pete” Belmar and Willard Belmar; and sister: Charlotte Essmueller.
Ron is survived by his loving and devoted wife of sixty-one years; children: Rhonda Belmar of Poplar Bluff, Philip Belmar and wife Betty Jo of Poplar Bluff, Shawn Belmar of Cape Girardeau; grandchildren: R. Jarrett Chilton, Joshua C. Belmar, Megan N. Belmar, Laura L. Morris, Sarah M. Fortner, Jacob Belmar, Michael Racker, Price R. Belmar, Bailey R Belmar; great-grandchildren: Julie Morris, Jensen Sieg, Bryliegh Racker, Madeline Fortner; brother: Gerald “Tom” Belmar of Molkane; sisters: Ladonna Turnbough of Imperial, Saundra “Sue” Penovich and husband Bill of Arnold; and many nieces, nephews. Ron will be greatly missed by his family and friends.
Visitation was held at 2:00 pm, Saturday, July 10, 2021, at Ruegg Funeral Home, Piedmont Chapel. Funeral service followed at 4:00 pm, also in the Piedmont Chapel. Bro. Tim Bridges ministered to the family. Jim Berkoffer, Jacob Belmar, Joshua Belmar, Shawn Belmar, Phillip Belmar, and Jarrett Chilton served as pallbearers. Burial was in Mt. View Cemetery, Des Arc, MO.
