Ronnie Lee Montgomery, age 79, of Bowling Green, KY, formerly of Wayne County, MO, passed away peacefully with his daughter by his side Tuesday, August 5, 2025, in Bowling Green. Ronnie was born in Poplar Bluff, MO, March 8, 1946, to parents Robert Francis and Esther Alice (Martin) Montgomery. He was a loving father, grandfather, great-grandfather, uncle, and friend whose presence brought laughter and warmth to every room he entered. Ronnie married the love of his life, Carolyn Yvonne Bennett, December 21, 1969, and they were blessed with two daughters. Their love was the foundation of a life well lived and full of devotion to family. For over forty years, Ronnie worked for General Motors in the Corvette department, where his passion for cars fueled his dedication. He was a true racing enthusiast—whether it was the thrill of NASCAR or the charm of backwoods racing, Ronnie was always all in. His love of the outdoors was just as strong—hunting, camping, and fishing were among his favorite pastimes. After retirement, Ronnie took great joy in traveling across the United States, the Gulf Coast and Destin, FL, held a special place in his heart. Known for his sense of humor, Ronnie was a storyteller with a joke always at the ready. He never met a stranger and was happiest meeting new people, making friends everywhere he went. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his beloved wife of fifty-five years; daughter: Valarie Bunch; grandson: Cory Kelly; brothers: Cleo, Roy, Guy, Lonnie, Reginald “Reggie,” Arlin, and Vernon Montgomery; sisters: Janice Chiles and Wilma Miller. Ronnie is survived by his daughter, Kimberly Campbell and husband Calvin; grandchildren: Justin Campbell, Mihayla Campbell, and Nicole Kelly; six great-grandchildren; many nieces and nephews; and his helping neighbors and special friends, Polly and Dawn. Ronnie will be remembered for his big heart, his love of life, and the joy he brought to those around him. He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
