Samuel "Bud" Lee Gowen, 90, of Piedmont, MO, passed away Tuesday, May 3, 2022, at Clark's Mountain Nursing Center, Piedmont. He was born in Piedmont, MO, April 12, 1932, to parents Samuel Benjamin and Elsie Fay (Smith) Gowen.
Bud was a loving husband and brother. He was married to Mary L. (Clark) Gowen. Bud was raised on Dry Creek. He worked for many years in fabrication. After retiring, he and his brother, Pete, started mowing lawns. He mowed lawns every day and never used a riding mower. Bud enjoyed raising a garden a was very meticulous with his yard, planting flowers and shrubs precisely in place. Bud recently accepted Christ as his Savior. He enjoyed life and being with family. He never missed a family reunion.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his brothers: Jim, Jerry, Bill, Arvel and Pete Gowen; sisters: Mary Brinkley, and Ann Esterline.
Bud is survived by his loving wife, Mary; brother: Albert Gowen and wife Fay of Salem; sister: Elsie Hampton of Farmington. Bud will be missed by all who knew and loved him.
Visitation will be held at 12:00 noon, Friday, May 6, 2022, at Ruegg Funeral Home, Piedmont Chapel. Funeral service will follow at 1:00 pm also in the Piedmont Chapel. Burial will be in Little Lake Cemetery, Patterson. Online condolences can be made at www.rueggfuneralhomes.com
