Sandra June Bancroft, 83, of Wappapello, MO, passed away Thursday, September 25, 2025, at her residence.
Sandra was born in St. Louis, MO, October 24, 1941, to parents Milton L. and Josephine June (Detchmendy) Doedli. She lived a full and vibrant life, marked by love, dedication, and adventure.
Sandra married the love of her life, Russell G. Bancroft, and together they shared many cherished memories until his passing. A devoted mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend, Sandra's warmth and spirited nature touched everyone she met.
Professionally, Sandra worked as a grade checker with the Labor Union, a job she took pride in and where she formed many lasting friendships. Outside of work, she found joy in her flower gardens, nurturing beauty in everything she did. In her younger years, she was an avid athlete — enjoying sports, water dancing, and especially softball. While living in Colorado, she loved skiing the mountain slopes, embracing life with energy and enthusiasm.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband; and son: Luke “Andy” Bancroft.
Sandra is survived by her son: Joseph "Joe" Bancroft and wife Melanie of Poplar Bluff; daughters: Kara Little of Wappapello, Cherie Markham and husband Robert of St. Louis; eight grandchildren: Crystal Burkes and husband David, Shay Godinez and husband Eddie, Jordan Winder and husband Colton, Jared Hull, Joshua Hull, Levi Little, Dustin Moore and wife DonNellya, Tyler Moore and wife Michelle; brother: Milton "Mike, Butch" Doedli of Wappapello; sister: Beverly Noettl of Scottsdale, AZ; nephews: David Noettl, Steve Noettl; nieces: Kimberly Millwood, Karen Noettl.
Sandra's legacy is one of strength, kindness, and unwavering love. She will be deeply missed by her family and friends.
Visitation was held Friday, October 3, 2025, from 10:00 am until funeral time at 11:00 am at Shiloh General Baptist Church at Shook. Sandra's son Joe ministered to the family and grandson Tyler provided the eulogy. Special recorded music was provided. Granddaughter Shay provided the eulogy at graveside. Eddie Godinez, Tyler Moore, Tom Puto, Levi Little, Colton Winder and Jeff Clubb served as pallbearers. Burial will follow at Shiloh Cemetery at Shook.
