Sharon Ann (Schneider) Baker

Sharon Ann Baker, 78, of Piedmont, MO, passed away Wednesday, September 3, 2025, at Poplar Bluff Regional Medical Center. She was born in Buffalo, NY, January 6, 1947, to parents William and Gladys (Starr) Schneider.

Sharon was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and friend whose kindness and dedication touched the lives of many.

Sharon married the love of her life, Philip Baker, December 31, 1982, and together they shared many years filled with memories, laughter, and unwavering companionship. Sharon was a devoted partner and a steadfast presence in the lives of her family.

A proud and active member of the Piedmont community, Sharon served with distinction in the American Legion Post 281. She held the positions of President of the Women's Auxiliary and later District Commander for District 13 Women's Auxiliary, dedicating her time and energy to supporting veterans and their families.

Sharon was also known for her artistic spirit and found joy in coloring and creating. Her love for animals was evident in the way she cared for her pets and embraced all creatures with compassion. She was faithful in her love for the Lord and attended Faith Family Worship Center at Piedmont.

She is preceded in death by her parents.

Sharon is survived by her devoted husband of forty-two years; children: James “Jay” Szczesny of Lackawanna, NY; David Schneider of NY; stepsons: Matthew Baker and Brian Baker of Chesterfield, VA; many dearly loved grandchildren and a host of dear friends.

Sharon’s warmth, generosity, and dedication to her family and community will be remembered always. Her presence will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.

A celebration of life was held at 11:00 am, Saturday, September 27, 2025, at Ruegg Funeral Home, Piedmont Chapel. Pastor Richard Sanders ministered to the family.
