Sharon (Stephens) Daugherty

Sharon O. Daugherty, 78, of Piedmont, MO, passed away on Sunday, December 1, 2024, at her residence. She was born on February 25, 1946, in Ironton, MO, to parents Paul and Sibyl (Vance) Stephens.

Sharon was a beloved mother, grandmother, sister, and friend. She married the love of her life, Jack Lee Daugherty, on August 22, 1964. Together, they raised two children and enjoyed a loving partnership that lasted for twenty-five years. Sharon was dedicated to her family, especially cherishing the time she spent with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren and going to and supporting them in their sports activities.

A lifelong member of Trinity United Methodist Church in Piedmont, Sharon was an active participant in church study groups and women's groups. She was passionate about giving back to her community, contributing to various local activities, including working at the food truck and sharing in the joys of bowling and Bingo.

Sharon was preceded in death by her parents and her husband, Jack, who passed away after 25 years of marriage. She is survived by her children: John Daugherty of Piedmont, and Kathleen "Kathy" Street and husband Jason of Patterson; grandchildren: Danielle Caskey and husband John, John Daugherty and wife Gloria, Jaylin Street, and Kristin Street; great-grandchildren: Conner, Annason, Grayson Lee, Willow Daugherty, and Declan Caskey. Sharon is also survived by her siblings: Robert Stephens and wife Jane of O'Fallon, MO, Paul Stephens and wife Jennie of Yukon, OK, Vonda Floyd and husband Bobby of O'Fallon, MO, and Connie Hinman and husband Larry of St. Charles, MO, as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and friends.

Sharon's presence will be deeply missed by her family, friends, and community. Her love, kindness, and selflessness touched many lives, and she will be fondly remembered by all who knew her.

Visitation was held at 11:00 am, Friday, December 6, 2024, at Ruegg Funeral Home, Piedmont Chapel. Funeral service followed at 1:00 pm, also in the Piedmont Chapel. Pastor Brian Abbott ministered to the family. John Daugherty, Chris Scowden, William Beckenbach, Jason Street, John Caskey, and Steven Scowden served as pallbearers.
