Sherri Lynne Melton, 67, of Piedmont, MO, passed away unexpectedly Saturday, January 31, 2026, at Poplar Bluff Regional Medical Center. She was born May 19, 1958, at Cape Girardeau, MO, daughter of Eugene and Patricia (Miller) Dailey.
Sherri’s life was a testament of service to her family. Adored by her husband, children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. She was a simple lady who placed other’s needs above herself. Sherri grew up in Cape Girardeau and attended Cape Central and graduated there. She was saved as a young girl and was of Baptist Faith. Sherri met her husband Stan at Pine Hill Drive In and she later worked with him at Rick’s Auto Parts at Piedmont. They married November 25, 2005.
In spare time she enjoyed tending to her little dogs, crafting and family functions.
Sherri is survived by her loving husband of twenty years; her father-in-law Don Melton; her loving children: Johnny Blankenship and wife Amanda of Marble Hill, Casey Melton and wife Jamie of Piedmont, Tara Reeves and husband Dru of Jackson, Laurie Ives and husband David of Glen Allen; her loving grandchildren: Tyler Jamerson and wife Rachel, Anthony Jamerson, Keely Blankenship, Katy Lohmann and husband Taylor, Dalton Blankenship, Patricia Blankenship, Damien Melton, Lucas Melton, Conner Melton and Travis Melton; her loving great grandchildren: J.D. Thompson, Brady Williams and Jacob Clippard.
She was preceded in death by her parents and brother, Terry Dailey.
Her family will never forget the love she shared with them and for them.
Visitation was held at 11:00 am, Thursday, February 5, 2026, at Ruegg Funeral Home, Piedmont Chapel. Funeral service followed at 1:00 pm, also in the Piedmont Chapel. Pastors Don Pennington and Pete Ruble ministered to the family. Johnny Blankenship, Casey Melton, Dalton Blankenship, Mike Gentles, David Ives, and Don Melton served as pallbearers.
