Susan Jeanne (Lucas) Middleton

Susan Jeanne Middleton, 72, of Wappapello, MO, passed away Wednesday, September 30, 2020, at her residence. She was born in Philadelphia, PA, August 27, 1948, to parents Warren Richard and Mary Ann (Warne) Lucas.

Susan was a loving wife, sister, and friend. She was married William “Bud” Middleton. Susan attended Texas Woman's University in Denton, TX. She was an accountant for Brown Shoe Company for many years. She was a very active member of Palace of Praise Church in Poplar Bluff, active in women’s groups and enjoyed going to the women’s conferences. Susan was an avid artist and very crafty. She was always available for anyone in need. Susan and Bud complimented each other; where you would see one, you would always see the other.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her loving husband.

Susan is survived by her sisters: Patricia Walters and husband John of St. Louis and Janet Lucas of Tampa, FL.

A joint visitation and funeral service was held for Bud and Susan, Saturday, Oct. 3, 2020. Visitation was 12:30 pm, at Ruegg Funeral Home, Piedmont Chapel. Funeral service followed at 2:00 pm, also in the Piedmont Chapel. Pastor Mike Lampkin ministered to the family. Gordon Middleton, John Walters, Jason Gildehaus, Gary Patterson, Roy Million, and David Davis served as pallbearers. Burial was in Mt. View Cemetery, Des Arc.
