Suzanne Parker Obituary

Suzanne Parker, 84, of Hillsboro, MO, formerly from Piedmont, MO, passed away Tuesday, July 13, 2021, at Delmar Gardens South Skilled Nursing Facility in St. Louis, MO. She was born on April 16, 1937, to Frank and Iona Wallis.  

Suzanne was a loving daughter, wife, mother, aunt, and grandma. She was a baptized and of the Catholic faith. She was united in marriage to Kenny Parker on January 31, 1964. They raised two children together. In her younger years Suzie worked as a bookkeeper for the Bank of Piedmont and Piedmont Furniture. In 1983, she relocated to Fredericktown and retired. Suzanne joined a Sorority in Fredericktown and enjoyed the many gatherings they had with their friends. She also enjoyed traveling with her husband, his partner Bill and Joanne Banks, and her many dear friends that worked at their dealership or had dealerships throughout the country. Suzanne also loved vacationing with her children, grandchildren, and Kenny’s family. She especially enjoyed going to Disney with her grandchildren and the winter trips to Florida with Kenny after he retired. Suzanne was a member Raintree Community and Country Club in Hillsboro where she had many happy times playing cards, going on trips, and socializing with her friends. She was a people person and had a gift of talking which always made her so fun to be with. She was also an avid reader and she loved going to or just watching movies at home.

Suzanne is survived by their two children: Cathy Niewoehner and her husband Gene of Festus, and Todd Parker and his wife Tammy of Springfield, her grandchildren: Melyn and Reanne Niewoehner, and Cassie Reever,  great-grandson, Corben Phillips, her brother, Don Wallis and wife Marilyn of Omaha, AK, her brother and sister in laws, Gene and Brenda Parker of Brunot, Doug and Mary Funk of Annapolis, and Jaunita Lewis of Fredericktown; her nephews and nieces, Julie and Kevin Kliethermes, Michael and Sara Daugherty, Scott and Lori Lewis, Jason and Emily Funk, Justin Funk, Jeremy Funk, Brad and Robin Parker, and their children. 

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband Kenny, her sister Lynn Daugherty and brothers-in-law: Wayne Daugherty and Walter Lewis. Suzanne will be forever missed by her children, family, and friends. 

A private family visitation was held at 11:00 am, Saturday, July 17, 2021, at Ruegg Funeral Home, Piedmont Chapel. A graveside service followed at 12:00 noon, in Masonic Cemetery. Pat Shaughnessy read prayers. Music was provided by Justin Funk. Cathy Niewoehner, Gene Niewoehner, Melyn Niewoehner, Reanne Niewoehner, Don Wallis, Todd Parker, Tammy Parker, and Mike Dougherty served as pallbearers.  Burial immediately followed. Donations can be made in honor and memory of Suzanne to the Jefferson County Foster Children's Fund by calling 636-310-1200, or sending to PO Box 445, Hillsboro, MO, 63050 or going to jeffcofosterfund.org  Online condolences can be made at www.rueggfuneralhomes.com
