Terrance “Terry” Lee Church, 79 of Florissant, MO, passed away Thursday, September 12, 2024, at his residence. He was born in Moline, IL, October 16, 1944, to parents Elmer Jackson and Alice Arlene (Towne) Church.
Terry was a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend. When Terry was young, he enjoyed going to the creek to build a campfire and gig. He was a hard worker. At twelve years old, Terry, along with his brother, owned their own mowing business and they mowed the majority of the lawns in Piedmont. He married the love of his life, Linda J. Moncey, on July 21, 1967, and they were blessed with two sons. Terry was also a mechanic in Piedmont. He and his wife ran the Stonecrest Motel for his mother and father-in-law before moving to St. Louis. Terry worked at McDonnell Douglas with his father, he was a Biotechnologist at Monsanto then moved on to become a Refrigeration Service Engineer for National Supermarket chains. Before he retired, he opened the Maintenance Division for Bandana’s BBQ in the St. Louis Area. Terry’s greatest legacy was his family.
He is preceded in death by his parents.
Terry is survived by his loving wife of fifty-seven years; sons: Charles Church and Emily of Davenport, IA, Michael Church and wife Nicole of Hazelwood; grandchildren: Mira Church of Springfield, Karah Church of Hazelwood; brother: Edward Church of Piedmont; twin-sister: Sandra Church of TX; niece: MaryAnn Church of TX. Terry will be greatly missed by his family and friends.
Visitation was held at 5:00 pm, Friday, September 20, 2024, at Ruegg Funeral Home, Piedmont Chapel. Funeral service was held at 11:00 am, Saturday, September 21, 2024, also in the Piedmont Chapel. Pastor Jack Hembree ministered to the family. Mira and Karah Church read scriptures. Chuck Church, Mike Church, Brian Jordan, Chuck Jordan, Marvin Berryman, and JJ Jedlicka served as pallbearers.
