Thelma Irene Douglas, 91, of Piedmont, Missouri, passed away peacefully on October 15, 2024. Born on September 18, 1933, to Paul Edward and Mary Jean (Farmer) Wyman, Thelma was a beloved mother, grandmother, sister, and friend.
On September 17, 1951, Thelma married O.D. Douglas, and together they raised one son and two daughters, creating a warm and loving home filled with cherished memories. She was a devoted Christian and a member of the Bowling Springs General Baptist Church in Bowling Green, Kentucky.
Thelma was a self-employed entrepreneur, owning and operating a successful dog kennel that reflected her love for animals. She was also an avid crafter, spending countless hours enjoying embroidery, quilting, and sewing. Her creativity and skill were evident in everything she created. A passionate bowler, Thelma, participated in a bowling team in Piedmont for many years and proudly took part in numerous bowling tournaments.
In her leisure time, Thelma enjoyed traveling and going on cruises, often sharing these adventures with her loved ones. She enjoyed playing dominos with her best friend, Judy. She is preceded in death by her devoted husband of fifty-two years, O.D. Douglas, and her sister, Dorothy Ray.
Thelma is survived by her children: Micheal "Ned" Douglas of Piedmont, Debbera Utterback of Van Buren, and Peggy Moore and husband Jim of Bowling Green, Kentucky. She also leaves behind several grandchildren and great-grandchildren who will carry on her legacy of love and kindness. Additionally, she is survived by her sister, Evah Wall of Georgia.
Thelma's warmth, creativity, and unwavering spirit touched the lives of many, and she will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
