Virgie Maxine Miller, 79, of Piedmont, MO, passed away Saturday, July 25, 2020, at her residence. She was born in Annapolis, MO, on June 22, 1941, to parents John and Helen (Leach) Copeland.
Virgie was a loving and devoted wife, mother, and grandmother. She was a graduate of Laramie High School and Southeast Missouri State University. She married Ron Miller on September 11, 1959, and they were blessed with three beautiful girls. Virgie was a Kindergarten teacher at Clearwater Elementary for twenty-eight years. She was a member of Ijames Hill General Baptist Church, enjoyed playing the piano and tending to her flowers.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her brothers: Clarence, Dean, and James Copeland.
Virgie is survived by her loving husband of sixty years, her daughters: Melinda Branstetter and husband Joe of Ironton, Genice Montgomery and husband Terry of Piedmont, Lori Lueddecke and husband Kevin of Piedmont; grandchildren: Anna Marie Beard and husband Brian, Dustin Branstetter and wife Erica, Alexa Branstetter, Sean Montgomery and wife Kelly, Shaylin Montgomery, Taylor Lueddecke and wife Destiny, Tricia Manetz and husband John Paul; great-grandchildren: Knox Beard, Tobin Beard, Presley Branstetter, Abel Branstetter, Avett Branstetter; brothers: Jerry Lee Copeland and wife Charlotte of Green River, WY, Kenny Copeland and wife Cindy of St. Charles, Michael Copeland and wife Debra of Kimmer, WY; sister, Barbara Lucas and husband Steve of Park Hills. Virgie will be greatly missed by her family, friends, and community.
Visitation will be held from 6:00 until 8:00 pm, Saturday, August 1, 2020, at Ruegg Funeral Home, Piedmont Chapel. Funeral service will be held at 2:00 pm, Sunday, August 2, 2020, also in the Piedmont Chapel. Burial will follow at Carson Hill Cemetery, Mill Spring, MO.
