Virginia (Acton) Luke

Virginia Luke, 59, of Poplar Bluff, MO, passed away Tuesday, January 19, 2021, at her residence. She was born in Moberly, MO, October 29, 1961, to parents Wilfred and Edna (Campbell) Acton. 

Virginia was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend. She married Mark Luke, February 18, 1995. She was very much into her heritage. She was part Cherokee and enjoyed arrowhead hunting along with fishing. Virginia mostly enjoyed caring for people and was a CNA at The Manor in Poplar Bluff. She was a saint, helpful, loving, and lived to make people’s lives better.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her loving husband of twenty-four years; grandchildren: Franklin Hayden, Justice Hayden, Tessa Bassnet, Ezekiel Damon; brothers: Wilbur and Billy Joe Acton; great-grandchild: Lela Lyons. 

Virginia is survived by her children: Debra Hayden and husband Chris of Columbia, Anna Bassnet of Columbia, Rachel Damon and husband Joey of Poplar Bluff; grandchildren: Sahara Lee Faye Damon, Brianna Lyons, Shelby Lynn Hayden, Abby Bassnet, Brian Bassnet; great-grandchildren: Joshua Lyons, Grant Theo Hayden, Evie Bassnett; brothers: Delber and Joel Acton both of Columbia; sisters: Gloria Nichols of Jacksonville, Marilyn Brown of Salsberry, Sheba; mother-in-law: Vernell (Osborne) Luke. Virginia will be greatly missed by her loving family and friends. 

Visitation was held at 1:00 pm, Monday, January 25, 2021, at Ruegg Funeral Home, Williamsville Chapel. Funeral service followed at 2:00 pm, also in the Williamsville Chapel. Pastor Richard Sanders ministered to the family. Joey Damon, Christopher Hayden, Brianna Lyons, Shelby Hayden, Joshua Lyons, and Treva Lyons served as pallbearers.
