Wayne Tucker Obituary

Wayne G. Tucker, 85, of Ellsinore, MO, passed away Friday, February 5, 2021, at Poplar Bluff Regional Medical Center. He was born in Ellsinore, MO, on March 8, 1935, to parents Alex Norvin and Maude Odessa (Boxx) Tucker.

Wayne was a loving husband, father, and grandfather. He was a graduate of Ellsinore High School. He married Margaret Kathryn Carnahan on June 30, 1957, and to this union their daughter was born. Wayne loved playing golf, bowling, farming, and spending time with his family. He proudly served his country in the United States Army, serving two years of active duty and two years on stand-by. While in the Army, Wayne received a commendation medal for Military Merit. He was a deacon and an elder of Christ United Presbyterian Church of St. Louis when he lived in St. Louis. In 1990, after working thirty-four years at McDonnell Douglas, in Quality Assurance as a Systems Analyst, he and Kathryn retired to his family farm in Ellsinore where he was born and raised. After moving back to Ellsinore, Wayne became a member of Ellsinore United Methodist Church. Wayne was very active in the community serving as president of Owl’s Roost Cemetery, also known as Robertson Cemetery. He was active in the Ellsinore Booster Association and made a train which he enjoyed driving for the children at various community events. Wayne served on the East Carter County School Board for six years in Ellsinore. He enjoyed his Masonic Lodge activities, becoming a Mason in 1964 at Florissant Lodge 668; retired and transferred to Wayne Lodge 526 in 1990 and served a dual membership at Grandin Lodge 579. He was a perpetual member of Scottish Rite; Knight Commander of the Court of Honor 32nd Degree in 2007; regional Grand Lecturer Region G from 2006 to 2015; and was a fifty-year member. He was also a fifty-year member of the Order of Eastern Star with his wife, Kathryn.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by two brothers: Gwynne and Bill C. Tucker.

Wayne is survived by his loving and devoted wife of sixty-three years; daughter: Janelle Dinwiddie and husband Thomas of Festus, MO; grandchildren: Jordyn Dinwiddie, Alex Dinwiddie, and Kara Dinwiddie. Wayne will be greatly missed by his family, friends, and community.

Due to the weather, Wayne's family has requested visitation and funeral services for Wayne G. Tucker be changed to the following: Visitation for Wayne will be held at 4:00 pm, Thursday, February 11, 2021, with Masonic service starting at 6:30 pm, at Ruegg Funeral Home, Piedmont Chapel. Funeral service will be held at 10:30 am, Friday, February 12, 2021, also in the Piedmont Chapel. Burial will be in Robertson Owl's Roost Cemetery, Ellsinore, MO.
