Wilford Dale McCollum, 83, of St. Louis, MO, formerly of Shook, MO, passed away Tuesday, September 10, 2024, in St. Louis, MO. He was born in Shook, MO, May 20, 1941, to parents Ernest and Esther (Richmand) McCollum.
Wilford was a loving father, grandfather, brother, and friend. He proudly served in the United States Navy. Wilford retired from McDonnell Douglas where he was a machinist for the F-15’s for thirty-five years. He enjoyed woodworking. He made many picnic tables and swings.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his brother: Ernest McCollum; sisters: Natalie Skaggs, Annalyee Hadox, and Carolyn Gerdel.
Wiford is survived by his sons: William Dale McCollum and life-long companion Peggi Bommarito, James McCollum, Robert McCollum, Donnie McCollum and wife Amy; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Wilford will be greatly missed by his family and friends.
A graveside service was held at 2:00 pm, Monday, September 16, 2024, at Richmann Chapel Cemetery, Wappapello, MO, with full military honors. Online condolences can be made at www.ruegg funeralhomes.com
