William "Bill" Vernon Bishop, 66, of Greenville, Missouri, passed away Sunday, January 26, 2025, at Poplar Bluff Regional Medical Center in Poplar Bluff, Missouri. He was born on January 30, 1958, in Norfork, Virginia, to Billy Alvin and Rosilee (Jordan) Bishop.
Bill was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend. He married the love of his life, Karen Luke, on December 18, 1986, and together they shared thirty-eight years of love, laughter, and cherished memories.
Bill had a deep appreciation for the outdoors, often found sitting by the river bank, reflecting and connecting with nature and his thoughts. His family was his greatest treasure, and he took immense joy in spending time with his loved ones. His kind heart, gentle spirit, and quiet wisdom touched the lives of many.
He is preceded in death by his parents.
Bill is survived by his loving wife, Karen; children: Sharon Bishop of Arkansas, Joshua Bishop and wife Heather of Springfield, Nicole Bishop of Greenville; eight grandchildren; one great-grandchild; and a host of friends and extended family who will miss him dearly.
Bill’s memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew him. His love for his family and his quiet, contemplative nature will be remembered fondly by those fortunate enough to call him a loved one and a friend.
A graveside service will be held at 1:30 pm, Tuesday, February 4, 2024, at Rucker Cemetery, Williamsville, MO. Online condolences can be made at rueggfuneralhomes.com
