William “Bill” Richard Lock, 77, of Silva, MO, passed away peacefully at his residence on Thursday, February 12, 2026. Bill was born on August 28, 1948, to John L. Lock and Christine Wilson.
Bill was a loving husband, father, brother, uncle, and friend. He was raised in Marble Hill, MO, where he developed a deep appreciation for the outdoors and the simple joys of country living—values that stayed with him throughout his life.
He met the love of his life, Bonnie Gadberry, in St. Louis, having been introduced by her brother, Danny Gadberry. The two were united in marriage in 1966 and cherished countless loving moments and building a life rooted in devotion and companionship.
An avid outdoorsman, Bill especially loved fishing and hunting with his son, Billy. If you weren’t prepared to fish for fourteen hours straight, you simply didn’t go along with them. Those long days outdoors were some of his most treasured times. Bill also operated a flea market in Greenville for several years, where he enjoyed visiting with customers and friends.
In quieter moments, Bill could often be found sitting on his porch, watching deer wander through the yard and singing old country songs. He found peace in nature and contentment in life’s simple pleasures. Bill and Bonnie also dearly loved their chihuahua dogs, who brought them much happiness and companionship over the years.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his beloved son, William “Billy” Lock; brother, John Lock; and sister, Juanita Lock.
Bill is survived by his devoted wife of sixty years; sister-in-law (daughter), Becky Elder and husband, Joey; special nephew, Peter Viviano; nieces, Cindy Viviano and Tammie Viviano.
Bill will be greatly missed by his family and friends. His memory will live on in the stories shared, the songs sung, and the quiet beauty of the outdoors he loved so dearly.
Visitation will be held at 12:00 noon, Monday, February 16, 2026, at Ruegg Funeral Home, Greenville Chapel. Funeral service will follow at 2:00 pm, also in the Greenville Chapel. Burial will be in New Liberty Cemetery, Clubb. Online condolences can be made at www.rueggfuneralhomes.com
